Rules of Balmichael

Parking at Balmichael Glamping

Our car park is on the left hand side as soon you turn of the main road. Please park then walk down the path through to the courtyard to get checked in. Our accommodation is a short walk from the car park.

Once you have been checked in you can bring your car down to your accommodation to unpack your luggage. We will show you where  to drive to access the glamping site to avoid our neighbour’s driveway.

Please return the car to the car park once you have unloaded. You can bring your car down on the day you are checking out. This helps us ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests and animals during your stay.

Dogs

Both tents and one pod (the Bodega), are our designated dog friendly accommodation and we are delighted to welcome dogs to our site at Balmichael Glamping. There is an additional charge of £5 per dog per night and we would allow a maximum of two dogs,. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your dogs prior to booking.

We do ask that all dogs are kept on a lead within the site, due to the other animals that share the site as well as the surrounding livestock and ask that you bear this in mind when walking near the site. We have stakes and long ropes for your dog to borrow when you are relaxing outside. Dogs are required to have bedding provided and are not allowed on sofas or beds for hygienic purposes.

Evenings

We want everyone to have an enjoyable stay whilst here at Balmichael. This is a family site and we ask that people respect other customers, our neighbours and animals on and near our site by ensuring they are quiet by 11pm each night.

Play park

The play-park is there for your kids’ enjoyment. We do ask that all children are supervised whilst using these facilities.

Duck Pond

We have a lovely duck pond to the north of our site. The duck pond is fenced off for your safety, please do not venture over the fence.

Feeding our animals

Food is available in The Nook (honesty shop) to feed all the animals - they love it!

Keep our site ‘Green’

Arran has a fantastic sustainability drive, this is being spearheaded by a local organisation Arran Eco Savvy. We have participated in Carbon Literacy Training to ensure our carbon footprint is as low as it can be. That is why at Balmichael Glamping:

  • We only use environmentally friendly cleaning products,
  • We provide your washing-up liquids and surface cleaners in refillable bottles,
  • Refillable Arran Aromatics hand-wash supports local business,
  • Wood for fires has been sourced locally,
  • Our solar PV panels provide energy for heating,
  • We have composting toilets for each accommodation

We are very keen to raise awareness of environmental impact and you’ll find some notices and information on site asking you to assist us on our GREEN MISSION:

  • Please tidy away all litter, making full use of our recycling facilities
  • Do not bring disposable plastic cutlery or paper plates (cutlery and plates are provided in all accommodations)
